i have read this somewhere that it was done so that women have to by handbags to carry stuff. So basically they wanted to give us this pain for their comfort🙃

Bah, yes, true. I'd often wondered if clothing designers had in fact attempted to market women's clothing with functional pockets semi-regularly, but discovered the hard way each time that, in practice, women unaccountably refuse to buy them. I have no idea if that's true, done zero research myself, but discover that phenomena like this happen on a regular basis.
Like, turns out it's always been possible to make fly spray that smells exquisite and not horrible. But exquisite-smelling fly spray makes most customers think "wait, is this not poison? Mispackaged air freshener, maybe? Must be crap at killing insects, next time I'll get that other brand." And sales plummet. Might there be a vaguely similar phenomenon with female pockets?
Nice outlook on the regular things that get overlooked. Still, I am of the opinion that though pockets are only utilitarian, they spoil the aesthetic when we put something in it. Not to mention that it is also uncomfortable. I would rather prefer jackets with inner pockets.
I know women that ignore anything without good pockets 🤣

It’s fascinating how “style over function” seems to show up most in women’s clothing. That can’t be accidental.
